The High Intensity Workout Myth (you won’t look like Arnie!!)

The high intensity workout mythIn my book, 12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous, I reveal how a short (only 12 minutes!), high intensity workout can speed up your metabolism and literally melt your body fat for up to 24 hours after you complete the program.

It is much more effective than running on the treadmill for half an hour. It tones your body and helps you to reach your desired body weight in much less time than cardiovascular exercise.

However mention the word ‘weights’ or ‘high intensity workout’ and some people run a mile. They wrongly believe that it means that they will turn into a veiny, bulked up bodybuilder. Images of Arnold Schwarzenegger flash before their eyes.

Let me put your mind at rest right now:

It’s a myth! !

Instead of bulking you up, you will end up with a toned, well-shaped body.

Here is the science bit:

Short-duration, high-intensity exercise has a fantastic effect on your body. It pumps up your metabolism — just 12 minutes of intensity and your body’s burning fat for the rest of the day. Even when you’re just sitting on your butt, plunked down in front of a computer. Now that’s great news but how does this work?

Well, intense exercise builds up muscle. And every extra pound of muscle burns an extra 40-50 calories a day. So … replace 20 pounds of fat with 20 pounds of muscle (remember, muscle is dense and you’ll be much slimmer) and you’ll be burning an extra 1000 calories each and every day.

So forget about the myths of turning into an extreme, bulky, veiny bodybuilder.

With the short 12 minutes per day program (only 3 times per week) you will be able to achieve the body you have always wanted.

12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous is only $7 and is helping many people to melt their body fat.

Alternatively, subscribe to the free report: “So Tell Me: How Do You Burn Body Fat”, which is available at the very top right hand corner of this web site.

Let me know what you think of using weights to get rid of your body fat.

Getting Rid Of Body Fat With The Biggest Loser Club

Biggest Loser Diet Club – Sign Up Now

In an earlier post, one of my motivational tips was to work along with other people, whether it be in a group or club, to receive encouragement and inspiration to reach your goal.

I have heard a lot of good reports from The Biggest Loser Diet Club (click the link above for more details) and hope to feature some interivews from people who have successfully achieved their goals using the program over the next few weeks.

What I liked about the program was the support that they give their members. That, combined with the customised, high intensity excercise program, the daily meal plans and recipes along with the personalised progress journal, I think it is a winning formula.

I’ll keep you informed of some of the interviews I will be doing with some of the people who have been involved in this program. Alternatively, if you have had any experience or know of somebody who has please share your comments.

Don’t forget, if you cannot afford the investment to join the Biggest Loser Club, “12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous” is only $7 but it is an outstanding program and is guranteed to help melt your body fat with a very effective high intensity workout that literally burns your body fat for the next 24 hours after you have completed the routine.

5 Tips To Help You Stick To An Exercise Or Workout Program

Melt your body fat - it only takes 12 minutesOne of the most appealing features of my workout program, “12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous”  available from www.meltyourbodyfat.com is that it literally only takes about 12 minutes to complete….and you only do it 3 times per week.

However, I know that some people still struggle to stay motivated despite the fact that if they stuck to the program within a matter of weeks they would be melting their body fat and have a toned and defined body.

Our lifestyles are so busy and everything is designed to sap us of our time and energy so really, it is little wonder that an exercise program is given less priority.

Here are  some great tips to help you to stay motivated and achieve the body you have always wanted.

1) Stay Positive. When your brain tells you not to exercise, (”I’m too stressed”, “I’m too tired”) force a more rational, positive thought into your head: “Exercise will help me to relieve stress. I’ll feel worse if I don’t exercise this week”. For every negative thought your brain generates, I know that you can counter with three positive ones.

2) Keep A Record. After you complete a workout, mark down on your calendar what you did that day. This gives you written proof of your accomplishments and achievements. It is so easy to forget or underestimate how much work and effort you have put into your workout and studies have shown that keeping a record is very motivating and reinforces your determination. ( in my book, “12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous” I supply you with printable training logs to make it easy to chart your success…and keep getting better and better.)

3) Give Yourself A Reward. After an especially good workout give yourself a treat. You can choose your own reward. A long-term study showed that self-chosen rewards helped people wanting to tone up and lose their body fat to reach their exercise goals. It’s simple but effective.

4)  Join A Group Or Workout With Friends. A review of 113 studies published in the US Journal Of Sport And Exercise Psychology shows you’re more likely to make a life-time commitment to exercise if you have some kind of social support. Why not arrange for 3 or 4 of your friends to meet together and do the 12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous workout program. You will notice some great results very quickly.

5) Look Ahead. Remember, when the going get’s tough, or you feel too tired or lethargic to exercise, look ahead and remind yourself of exactly what it is you are working towards. Picture yourself slimmer and fitter. Remind yourself of the reasons for wanting to change and seek encouragement from family, friends or professionals.

If you need any extra motivation or assistance please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help you to reach your goals.

Ab Crunch Workout For Beginners

This is the first in my series of videos showing you how easy it is to exercise and start burning off that body fat.

In this video, Kirk Watt, of Visionfit.com shows you how to do an ab-crunch workout. Kirk specifically aims this video at beginners but more experienced members can still benefit as it is easy to slip into bad habits and perhaps not do it correctly and be less effective as a result.

“Diets are a training course to failure”..and simply don’t work

Diets don't workHands up, if like me you are sick and tired of diets. Better still, hands up if you would like to join me in my anti-diet campaign.

There are literally thousands of diets out there, all with contradictory advice. It is a multi-billion dollar industry and yet according to recent World Health Organisation statistics there are more people in the world obese than there are starving.

In Britain alone, the National Health Service is buckling under the strain (no pun intended) as it tries to cope with the amount of clinically obese people suffering from fat related diseases. Many of these people have claimed to have tried nearly every diet under the sun.

The figures in the US are even worse and the trend is spreading like an epidemic around the world. Obesity is on the increase.

However, take a look on Amazon and type in the word ‘diet’ and see the thousands of books on the market. Type the word ‘diet’ into a search engine and see how many diets plans there are out there. Why are do the obesity facts and figures conflict with the amount of ‘wonder diets’ that claim to help us to lose weight?

Here are 3 reasons why diets don’t work:

1) They are too restrictive. If you are forbidden to eat certain foods, rather than want it less the food instantly becomes more attractive to you. You end up either counting down the days to when you ‘come off the diet’ or you end up giving in and gorging yourself on the food. In both situations, you end up feeling bad about yourself and you put the weight back on.

2) They don’t take into account normal lifestyles. Let’s face it, if we all had a chef to prepare our meals, or unlimited amounts of time to prepare our own healthy meals, losing weight would be much simpler. But in all honesty, when was the last time YOU had 2 hours to prepare a meal. We live in a very busy environment. We have commitments to family and work. Time is at a premium and as more and more things crowd our lives, trying to cater to a restrictive diet regime becomes less and less important and practical.

3) They make us feel like failures. As people jump from one diet fad to another and fail to lose the weight that they were promised they begin to feel bad about themselves. Paul McKenna, the famous hypnotherapist said this about diets: “Diets are no more than training courses in how to get fat and feel like a failure”.

So if dieting doesn’t work are we all doomed to being overweight couch potatoes?

No, not at all.

I believe that life is for living, not dieting. Don’t you agree?

Rather than having an unhealthy relationship with food, it is much better to have an enjoyable balanced diet combined with activity that burns the extra calories throughout the day.

There is a lot of information on this site but if you require any personalised information please feel free to contact me.

I would love you to join my anti-diet campaign so please add your comments below and let me know what you think.

Trainers say more lifting less cardio

Today the Chicago Tribune contained a very interesting article backing what I advocate on this site: Less Cardio and more high intensity lifting to melt your body fat.

It tells the story of Amy Jones who used to spend hours on the treadmill thinking that she was burning her body fat and doing an effective workout.

She eventually joined her husband on a weight training excercise program and was astouned at the results. After just one session she was hooked: “”I’m more toned, I have more energy and more endurance,” she said. “I’ve turned fat into muscle, and my clothes fit better.”

She now has no intention of returning back to the treadmill.

Other trainers expressed their concerns about doing too much cardio and not enough high intensity work outs which  tone the body and burn the body fat more efficiently.

Burn your body fat with this effective 12 minute daily program12 Minutes To Fit And Fabulous is my report which is designed for busy people. It is a fast and furious workout system which takes about 12 minutes only 3 times per week. It is guaranteed to speed up your metabolism and continue to melt your body fat for up to 24 hours after the workout.

It is only $7 (£3.50) and comes with a full money back guarantee. If you are sick and tired of slogging away doing cardio exercises and want to do something more effective to get rid of your fat and tone yourself up get started right away with the 12 Minute workout.

Push-ups are a simple, effective, economical way to build strength

Push ups burn body fatForget gyms and expensive weight training equipement. Push-ups are a great way to melt your body fat.

Before you start doing some right now, I want to share a secret with you that will probably double the amount of body fat you normally burn when you do push-ips.

Victoria Scott teaches a body conditioning class and she reveals a very effective way to do push-ups properly. Victoria says “Lots of people fool themselves with the rear end way up or the belly coming down first,” explains Scott. “They think they can do more push-ups than they can really do.”

Hmmm. That sounds familiar (blush).

I decided to do push-ups the Victoria method and I can tell you that it was incredibly hard, but the affects aftwards was amazing. I could really feel the difference between her method and my normal push-ups routine. I’m a convert and it will certainly burn more calories than my normal efforts.

Read about Victoria and her method by clicking here. Look out for the link to a very informative push-ups video which is on Youtube. It will show you how to do the ultimate push-up.
